Minneapolis Rodeo Brings First Outdoor PRCA Competition and Country Music Festival to Surly Brewing Festival Field

June 6th, 2026

The Twin Cities will host its first-ever outdoor Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctioned rodeo this summer as Minneapolis Rodeo 2026 takes over the Surly Brewing Festival Field on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Produced by Minnesota-founded Rodeo Star, LLC, the one-day event combines professional rodeo competition, a full-day country and Americana music lineup, local vendors and western culture experiences in the heart of Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Rodeo is proud to spotlight a meaningful charity partner as part of this year’s event- Folds of Honor Minnesota will be featured at the vendor fair, offering attendees the chance to connect and learn more. Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders, helping support their families through access to education.

The festival opens at noon with family-friendly rodeo programming, including mutton busting, mechanical bull riding, interactive western experiences, daytime music performances and Minneapolis legend - James from Hold Your Lady Tight Night bringing country line dancing and two-stepping to the asphalt.

In partnership with Winterhaus Studios, the event will feature a curated vintage and artisan marketplace highlighting local vendors, western apparel, and independent creators, with community partners including Wrecktangle Pizza and local tattoo artists Luke Lieske and Andrea Bartsch.

At 4:00 p.m., the spotlight shifts to the PRCA-sanctioned professional rodeo, where elite cowboys and cowgirls compete for prize money and points toward the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Events include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping and Breakaway Roping.

After the rodeo, Festival Field transforms into a country music concert, keeping fans close to the action as headliner Nikki Lane closes out the night.

About Rodeo Star, LLC
Rodeo Star was founded in Minnesota by lifelong rodeo fans with roots in small-town dirt roads and county fair arenas. Inspired by their upbringing on late-night horse rides and wide-open spaces, the founders set out to bring authentic rodeo culture into urban environments. What began as a bold idea to stage real rodeos in the heart of major cities quickly evolved into a lifestyle brand blending traditional Western grit with modern street culture. Today, Rodeo Star produces urban rodeos, live music events and curated Western-inspired apparel, creating experiences that are both authentic and contemporary. With a focus on community, style  and inclusivity, Rodeo Star celebrates American grit in new spaces- bringing the Western spirit to city streets while honoring the traditions of the arena.
